CODE: D is a study/relational experience designed to help direct your spiritual growth. We trust that you will gain a deeper understanding of basic teachings of the Christian faith, develop friendships with other Christ-followers through Gospel Community, and find your place to serve at theRefuge. The course materials and goals are foundational for followers of Christ to discover their purpose and understand God’s plan for their life.

Being a disciple of Jesus Christ and making disciples are life-long commitments. The CODE: D lessons are designed to bring the disciple through repentance and enlightenment into ministry training. We want to reproduce people who recognize the change in their lives, who know the basic principles and characteristics of the Lord Jesus Christ, and who begin an active involvement in the life of this church and the work of ministry.

Biblical Discipleship is process of life transference, not a program centered around the teaching of the lessons. The goal of biblical discipleship is seeing the disciple grow in their conformity to be like Jesus. This is accomplished by working to see four biblical goals established in the life of the disciple.

Be established in the word of God

Your daily walk with God through prayer and the study of the Bible is essential to biblical discipleship. theRefuge bookstore provides Bibles, books, study guides, and from our website you can download podcast recordings to help you establish strong study habits. Sunday Night worship services give you the opportunity to learn from our pastor, Scott Benjamin. Training classes provide further opportunities for personal spiritual growth.

Be established in the fellowship of believers

Develop relationships that are mutually edifying through the Gospel Community lifestyle we live here at theRefuge. These smaller group settings allow you to meet people as you continue to grow in your walk with the Lord.

Be established in the structure of the local church

This happens through faithful attendance and commitment to Covenant Membership. The New Member’s Class provides you with important information about our history, what we believe, and the steps to become a Refuge member (a Fugee).

During the New Member’s class you will receive information about CODE: D, a study experience designed to deepen your personal walk with the Lord.

Be established in ministry

Ministry within the local church allows us to use the gifts and talents received from God to benefit our church body, which in turn, allows us to apply the things we have learned. The Spiritual Gifts Test will help you see what your gifts may be and directs you to areas of ministry available at theRefuge.
